Six Middletown Middle School students will appear in court next month after officials said they smoked marijuana at school.
Police said the students, all 13 years old, were reportedly skipping class Oct. 14 and found in the auditorium.
Officers said the teens had been smoking pot there, and also in a boy’s restroom and the auditorium lobby, where graffiti was found and a fire extinguisher had been discharged.
Police said several windows were also broken out in the auditorium.
The vandalism actually had happened the day before, police determined.
Police said all six students – one boy and five girls – admitted to using drugs in the auditorium.
The school’s principal said carpet cleaning in the auditorium would cost nearly $400, and repairs to the restroom and auditorium lobby would cost more than $2,600.
All six teens were charged with vandalism and possession of drugs, and one girl was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court dates were set for Nov. 8 in the Butler County Juvenile Court.
