Police on Monday warned women not to be alone on a popular walking and biking trail in Durham after four incidents of indecent exposure occurred within eight days on the trail.

The reported flashing incidents occurred on Oct. 23 and again Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the American Tobacco Trail in southern Durham, police said. The description of the culprit is fairly similar in all four cases – a white man in his 30s or 40s and about 6 feet tall.

Tobacco giant loses appeal on $89m tax bill

BRITISH American Tobacco has lost an appeal in the full Federal Court in a dispute over an $89 million capital gains tax bill. Three appeal judges unanimously upheld Justice Arthur Emmett’s 2009 ruling that the tobacco company had engaged in a scheme whose ”dominant purpose” was to avoid tax rather than to pursue a genuine commercial strategy. Docs call American cigarettes the most dangerous

American cigarettes(NBC) – American cigarette brands may contain the highest amounts of cancer-causing chemicals, according to new research from the centers for disease control and prevention.

Researchers studied over 100 smokers from the US, UK, Australia and Canada.

They measured the amount of chemicals, called TSNAS, in their cigarette butts, and collected urine samples.

They found American cigarettes, which included mostly popular brands, had the highest amounts of carcinogens when compared to foreign brands.
