Cigarettes worth £9,000 stolen from Co-op in Hedge End

THIEVES stole £9,000 worth of cigarettes when they broke in to a Hampshire convenience store.

The front window of Co-op in Lower Northam Road, Hedge End, was smashed to gain entry before the burglars made off with the huge haul.

Police are hunting four men who were seen in the area around the time of the incident, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

All of the men were wearing dark clothes.

PC Andrew Dolan said: “Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in this area, late on Friday through to the early hours of Saturday, to contact us. If you have any information which could help police with their enquiries then please come forward.”
