pot use
Few would question that tobacco smoke is harmful to health (“Report: Just one cigarette is bad,” News, Dec. 9). However, it is extremely hypocritical for some across the country to push for the legalization of marijuana, which can be even more harmful than tobacco. The medical profession has been relatively silent on this because it is becoming more politically correct to accept marijuana, not criticize it. This in itself is a sad statement.

Farmington city councilors are to vote Tuesday whether to ban synthetic marijuana.

Officials in the northwestern New Mexico city say it’s marketed as incense but when burned and inhaled can be more potent than THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.

Synthetic marijuana, also known as salvia divinorum, is sold under names such as K-2, Spice, Genie, Zohai, Sage and Yucatan Fire. Ream more »

Synthetic Marijuana

December 9th, 2010 Posted in Marijuana news Tags: ,

Synthetic Marijuana
Just when you think you have heard and seen it all, something new pops up on the drug radar. I had just recently been exposed to K2 or K3 within the past few weeks. While using my K9 during a stop he alerted to the vehicle. After a quick debate with the suspect over what constituted an alert, the vehicle was searched. I found a prescription bottle with a green leafy substance in the center console. So what is K2 or synthetic marijuana, where does it come from, and why is it quickly becoming illegal?
