A fight over marijuana ended when a Linda man beat two men with a large tree branch, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.
Cole L. Younger, 49, was booked into the Yuba County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He posted a $30,000 bail bond and was released a short time later.

Once a year, the Federal government conducts a confidential, anonymous survey to detect trends in the nation’s drug use. Colorado legalized marijuana as a so-called medicine in 2000. They have more than 99,000 “patients.” Pain is the most common condition cited with 94 percent of users. City Council members will consider extending a moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries when they meet Tuesday.
The council adopted an ordinance to prohibit medical marijuana dispensaries within the city in 2005, but replaced that law in October 2011 with an ordinance prohibiting dispensaries for one year. Ream more »
