Tobacco has even been cause for wars. In the early 1900′s the American Tobacco Association or ATC had a monopoly over tobacco prices. In areas near Hopkinsville, many farmers weren’t making profit from the low fixed price offered from the ATC. When the Dark Tobacco District Planters’ Protective Association failed to protect farmers, vigilantes took up the burden. Men called the “night riders” sewed salt in tobacco fields, whipped farmers, and dynamited tobacco warehouses in Elkton, Kentucky. Finally, tobacco prices went up and farmers could make a profit. It’s been a few weeks since we last checked in our tobacco crop, and they’ve grown quite a bit. With the days getting longer and the weather set to warm up soon, we’ll be moving our plants outside into fresh air and better sunlight. In the meantime, though, they’ve gotten too big for the cells we planted them in. Over the weekend, we repotted the plants, using larger pots and fresh soil, so they can grow a more developed root system and get bigger before we move them outside. Read more

Partnership with Rocky Patel means the United Tobacco cigars will be sold, distributed and marketed by the Rocky Patel channels and the company name has been changed to EO Brands. Read more
