The pop star’s comments are published just days after she was voted the celebrity with the worst influence on teens in a survey of youngsters for the second year in a row.
A video of the 18-year-old smoking a bong allegedly filled with the herb salvia was posted on the Internet in December.

President Barack Obama has officially quit smoking, after his wife confirmed today that he had been smoke free for a year.
“He’s always wanted to stop,” the first lady told reporters at the Whitehouse, as she revealed that she didn’t know exactly when his last cigarette was “because he never smoked a lot” and she didn’t ever see him light up.

First lady Michelle Obama considers her husband a former smoker because he formally has quit smoking, she told a roundtable of print reporters today. Asked by reporters if she could say the president finally has quit smoking, Michelle Obama said, “Yes, he has,” and that “it’s been almost a year.”
She didn’t know exactly when he’d quit, the AP reported, “because he never smoked a lot,” and she’d never see him smoke.

An upcoming movie starring Miley Cyrus has been edited so as not to show her character smoking marijuana after Cyrus was seen smoking from a bong in a real life home video, Us Weekly reported Monday. Charlotte Church made a very important New Year’s resolution for 2011 – to give up smoking for the sake of her two kids Ruby, 3, and Dexter, 2. The singer previously quit during both of her pregnancies, but has since started up her habit again and is now determined to stop once and for all.

Even though Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz suspended starting running back Adam Robinson for the Insight Bowl, Ferentz expected Robinson to eventually earn back his spot with the Hawkeyes.
Getting arrested on a marijuana charge wasn’t exactly what Ferentz had in mind.
Robinson, 21, was charged with possession of marijuana Monday night in his hometown of Des Moines, putting his career at Iowa in jeopardy.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs went on CNN Sunday, and once again the subject of President Obama’s smoking habit came up.
“I can report that it’s been probably about nine months since he last smoked a cigarette,” Gibbs said on Candy Crowley’s “State of the Union” show. “He has done enormously well in quitting. It was a commitment that I think he made to himself at the end of (the) health care (debate) and with his two daughters in mind.”
