Ban tobacco altogether – it’s the way forward
Saudi Arabia, not normally seen as a bastion of enlightenment has stepped out to lead the race in protecting its citizens against itself.
In what could be seen as a controversial move, KSA has banned all tobacco and smoking, not just in public places but as a nation.
On a quiet Friday morning two weeks ago Saudi authorities visited every retail and commercial centre for cigarette sales and confiscated ALL tobacco including Sheisha, they did without warning to stop people stockpiling the remaining death sticks.
This move makes absolute sense and stops the hypocrisy of laws against other dangerous drugs, alcohol, hashish, heroin etc and puts tobacco where in belongs an illegal and dangerous drug that causes more deaths and greater pain that ALL other illegal drugs combined, not only for the user but for anyone within 100 metres of the foul smelling poison.
Can we now hope that other countries will follow Saudi’s proud example and completely ban this marketing driven murder campaign by the Big Tobacco industry; we know America won’t ban them due to the massive investment into politicians by the industry, but perhaps the less corrupt governments will see this as a beacon to save the lives of millions of citizens as well as save themselves billions of dollars in medical care for these selfish and foolish masochinists who insist smoking is OK?
Smokers of the World beware, your addiction is finally and rightfully under attack. Enjoy the Fresh Air.
