Of late, smokers are being exposed to a variety of methods to help quit their habit, one of them being electronic cigarettes. Now, a study conducted by experts from the Cancer Research U.K has disclosed that the nicotine substitute cytisine which is commercially sold as Tabex could raise the chances of a person giving up the habit of smoking by 3 folds for a minimum of 1 year.

Medical marijuana users fly under campus radar

In response to a monumental shift in Maine policy since 2009, medical marijuana is on the University of Maine campus.

However, university officials haven’t seen that firsthand. Police and the person charged with managing disability accommodations say they haven’t been approached to deal with any conflicts regarding the federally illegal, state-authorized plant that is used to treat medical conditions.

Army smokes out cigarette smugglers

Cigarette smugglers, up to now mainly confined to South Africa’s border with Zimbabwe, have run into their nemesis in the form of SA Army soldiers on the Mozambique border.

In a major bust last week a 3 SA Infantry Battalion patrol in the vicinity of the Lebombo border post intercepted a gang of more than 40 suspects carrying boxes, said Capt ZG Sithole of the SA National Defence Force’s joint operations division.

Allow smoking in bars, parks

Nampa and Caldwell city officials are on the right track when they say they aren’t considering a ban on smoking in the cities’ bars and parks and have no intention of doing so. Good for them.
